Dubai Creek Harbour Community Guide
Dubai Creek is an essential part of Dubai’s history and was at the heart of the city’s commercial activity in its early days. Back then, the vibrant metropolis we know today was a pearl diving village heavily involved in maritime trade with the Creek serving as a key port. As the city developed and expanded its urban footprint, it became more of a historical footnote and a tourist attraction for those who wanted a glimpse into Dubai’s heritage. The continued popularity of waterfront real estate has driven the transformation of the Creek, giving rise to Dubai Creek Harbour.
Launched in 2014, Dubai Creek Harbour combines the vertically planned landscape and wide boulevards of Downtown Dubai with a charming coastal setting to offer an atmosphere that is wholly unique. The neighbourhood is underpinned by sustainable and eco-conscious design, providing a blueprint for future urban communities to follow. The masterplan of the community is divided across nine interconnected districts, of which the Creek Island District was the first to be completed.
