There is no other way in but the gate or the lake. Surrounding trails climb to the ridgeline and stop; nothing crosses. The result is a private nature preserve of mature cedar, fir, and tamarack--home to herds of deer and elk--warmed by its own sheltered microclimate. The views are protected forever: unbroken state land for miles to the south, sheer cliffs across the lake where nothing can be built. Beyond lies Lake Pend Oreille itself, an alpine lake more than a thousand feet deep and the most pristine water in Idaho. The stone-clad main residence--fiber-reinforced concrete faced in hand-laid stone, with radiant heat from gas and wood-fired boilers--offers 3 bedrooms, 5 baths, steam shower, sauna, and Toto Neorest fixtures throughout.
