Dubai Creek is an essential part of Dubai’s history and was at the heart of the city’s commercial activity in its early days. Back then, the vibrant metropolis we know today was a pearl diving village heavily involved in maritime trade with the Creek serving as a key port.

Whangarei's most talked-about residence - and every bit as extraordinary as its reputation suggests. Perched on an elevated site in Ngararatunua, Kamo West, this magnificent three-storey, 776 sq m chateau commands sweeping views across Whangarei city to the harbour, set within 3.49 ha (8.6 acres) of rolling Northland countryside. From the moment you pass through the wrought iron security gates and ascend the sweeping asphalt drive framed by Paradise Stone retaining walls, it is clear this is a property unlike any other.
Constructed over three stages between 1995 and 2015 by a master timber merchant, the craftsmanship throughout is simply irreplaceable. At its heart sits a grand curved Spanish marble staircase, complemented by Jarrah banisters and balustrades. A chandelier hangs above, marble floors flow beneath, and rich Jarrah panelling creates a sense of timeless elegance from the moment you enter.
The owner's expertise is evident throughout. American Oak internal doors, floor-to-ceiling Mahogany cabinetry in the library, marble fireplace hearths, detailed plasterwork, decorative architraves and substantial timber finishes combine to create a residence of remarkable substance. These are enduring materials and workmanship rarely seen today. In 2023, an independent insurance valuation assessed the rebuild cost at more than $8 million, highlighting the exceptional value represented here.
Spanning three generous levels, the home offers four double bedrooms, four bathrooms including a spa bath and sauna, four separate living areas, a formal dining room, dedicated library, home office, sunroom, wine cellar and a goods service lift connecting the floors. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with granite benchtops, American Oak cabinetry, a freestanding stove, centre island with breakfast bar and a fully equipped scullery. The master suite occupies its own private wing on the first floor, complete with walk-through wardrobe and ensuite.
Year-round comfort is ensured with six heat pumps, three fireplaces including two open fires and a gas fireplace, while built-in ceiling speakers provide seamless ambience throughout the home.
Outside, a vast terrace captures the panoramic views and provides an exceptional setting for entertaining. Stone columns and a pergola frame the outlook, while a life-size outdoor chess board set into the terrace creates a memorable focal point. The grounds include triple garaging, a high-stud boat shed and workshop with a 4.1-metre door and internal gantry, established landscaping, and complete security behind wrought iron gates.
Offered with genuine reluctance by an owner who fell in love with the property at first sight, this is a home that leaves a lasting impression.
A property of this scale and character invites a rare kind of vision. For those who love to entertain, the expansive terraces, multiple living spaces and commanding views create a setting few properties can match. The dramatic architecture lends itself naturally to memorable gatherings, while the generous proportions and exceptional infrastructure offer flexibility for a wide range of lifestyle aspirations. Equally, it is the ultimate multi-generational family home, with space for everyone, room to grow and craftsmanship that will only become more treasured with time.
Properties of this calibre are genuinely rare in Northland and rarer still across New Zealand. If you have ever dreamed of owning something truly extraordinary, built with passion and designed to endure, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

99 Parakiore Road, Whangarei

A home of considered design, immersed in native bush and framed by the Pacific, Lot 4 offers a rare opportunity to experience Langs Beach at its most private and rewarding.
Encompassing approximately 2,725 sq m (more or less), the property occupies a wonderfully private setting amongst established native bush, with expansive views towards the Pacific. Reserve land and the distinctive pancake rock formations of Langs Beach add to the sense of space, while the nearby coastal walkway provides an easy connection to the shoreline and beach.
At the heart of the property is an architecturally designed split-level beach home of approximately 225 sq m (plus decks), thoughtfully positioned to embrace its natural surroundings and ocean outlook.
Light-filled living spaces open seamlessly to generous decks, creating an effortless connection between indoors and out. This is a home designed for relaxed coastal living -long lunches in the sun, evening drinks as the light changes across the water, and quiet mornings accompanied by birdsong and the sound of the sea.
Four double bedrooms provide generous and flexible accommodation, including a detached suite that offers a private sanctuary - ideal as a master retreat, guest accommodation or a peaceful space to work from home.
Beyond the home itself lies an exciting element of future potential. Under the existing Resource Consent, a further 600 sq m section can be subdivided from Lot 4 at Stage Two, providing the opportunity to unlock additional value or retain a separate parcel for family, guests or future generations.
The lifestyle is equally compelling. Follow the coastal walkway towards Ding Bay or Waipū Cove Surf Beach, swim at Waipū Cove or the pōhutukawa-lined Langs Beach, or simply retreat home and enjoy the privacy and tranquillity of your own coastal sanctuary.
Available to purchase independently, subject to title being issued, Lot 4, 1123 Cove Road, offers the rare combination of an established architecturally designed home, an exceptional coastal setting and meaningful future potential.
A beautiful home, a remarkable setting, and more to come.

Lot 4 1123 Cove Road, Langs Beach

Two titles, over 200 metres of private harbour frontage, and room for everyone you love. Lot 1 is 2,605 sq m and Lot 2 is approximately 5,564 sq m with a three-bedroom family home, studios and self-contained dwellings, and bach-style living with west-facing decks made for sunsets. Parents, kids, grandkids and friends can each have their own space, with the harbour as the shared backyard.

Or think bigger. Cabins, boutique stays, a retreat or a lifestyle venture: the bones, the history and the setting are already here, and dual road access plus riparian rights along nearly half the boundary give you room to move.

Want options? Preliminary plans show potential for up to seven additional titles, nine in total. Keep it all, develop it, or sell a section or two to fund your dream home. You can even keep Lot 2's waterfront entirely to yourself.

Significant work has gone into the new seawalls, and the BBQ cabana sits right over the water. You simply wouldn't be allowed to build it today.

Golf, fish, kayak or walk the beaches of the harbour, all just minutes from Whangarei.

Photos and words can't capture the privacy, the stillness or the scale of this place. You have to stand on the shoreline to understand it. Waterfront like this rarely comes to market, and it won't come twice.
