Coucou

For those in search of a refined fine dining experience paired with exceptional views, Coucou at The View at Palm Jumeirah provides an inspiring choice. Perched 52 storeys high, this elegant yet contemporary venue offers sweeping vistas of the iconic Palm Jumeirah and caters seamlessly to a variety of occasions. Whether it’s a romantic evening, drinks with friends, or a memorable family gathering, Coucou invites guests to relax and indulge in style.

The menu is as sophisticated as the surroundings. Featuring globally inspired dishes with a particular focus on Mediterranean cuisine, head chef Kanchana Ranasinghe brings a wealth of experience to the Coucou kitchen. With more than 20 years experience, this ambitious and innovative chef is a true poet of the palate.

The baked potatoes with foie gras and truffle sauce stands out on the appetiser menu, while on the main menu, the grilled Mediterranean seabass offers a unique taste of the ocean. The apex, however, is arguably the Canadian Tomahawk, while the Lobster Linguine – an Italian speciality – is another nod to the restaurant’s Mediterranean influence.

Best experienced at sunset, the restaurant offers spectacular views of one of Dubai’s most iconic neighbourhoods, making it one of the stand-out restaurants in Dubai where views are concerned.

Cavo

Located in the Ramee Dream Hotel on Al Asayel Street, Cavo straddles Business Bay and Downtown and – thanks to its location – provides spectacular views of the world-acclaimed Burj Khalifa.

With its stunning ambience, this stylish restaurant blends Mediterranean cuisine with vibrant entertainment. Lauded for its exquisitely prepared dishes – the highlight of which is arguably the lamb rack – the restaurant also doubles as a nightclub once the food has been served and the lights go down, transforming into a lively, music-filled venue where the atmosphere shifts from fine dining to modern entertainment.

While this transformational feature is almost certainly the reason why the establishment markets itself as “a concept like no other”, this shouldn’t detract from the food on offer. The salmon is cooked to perfection, while the truffle mushroom pizza is bursting with flavour – like most choices on the menu. The T-Bone and Tomahawk Steaks are also a veritable feast for discerning gourmands, in addition to the maki roll and wok menus – which provide flavour in abundance.

Cavo Dubai offers an impressive dining experience in a vibrant atmosphere, creating the perfect environment for an evening spent gazing towards the iconic Burj Khalifa.

Barfly by Buddha Bar

Located in the Hilton Hotel on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, Barfly by Buddha Bar offers a trendy take on Asian cuisine. Chic interiors make way for a rolling terrace, offering sweeping views across Dubai Harbour towards Dubai Marina – an irresistible backdrop for those intent on capturing the perfect Instagram-worthy snap. Best experienced during the evening when the world-renowned marina area is illuminated, Barfly is an enigmatic adventure complete with energetic entertainers who really know how to take the atmosphere up a notch.

However, it isn’t just the exquisite views and top-class entertainment on offer at this bewitching venue; the food is also exemplary. With its Asian influence, seafood is front and centre – the starter menu offering the flavourful Barfly Tuna Sushi Pizza and the Lobster Mango Salad. The venue also offers hot starters, bao buns and 6-piece Japanese Nigiri platters, while the ceviche serves as a nod to South American-style seafood. The main courses are no less delectable: the Octopus Parrillero is exquisite, while the Chicken Kung Pao and Wagyu Short Ribs will leave guests craving more.

The attentive staff at Barfly enhance the restaurant’s many standout features, ensuring that guests are not only treated to exceptional views but also to a truly memorable dining experience.

At.mosphere

Naturally, this fine dining experience – perched atop the iconic Burj Khalifa – does not offer a view of the tower itself. However, given the sweeping vistas it provides over the city, it undoubtedly earns its place on any list of Dubai’s most scenic restaurants.

In a restaurant where “modern French elegance meets the unparalleled views of the Dubai skyline”, each dish has been thoughtfully prepared and the ambience – helped by mindful servers – bestows a harmonious experience. The quality of food on offer is second to none; At.mosphere provides an ideal option to experience traditional French flavours in sophisticated surroundings.

As you might imagine, the restaurant holds the record as the world’s highest – 122 floors above ground – at 422 metres, providing visitors with arguably the world’s most unique dining experience. The exceptional cuisine comes courtesy of chef Yannis Sgard, who believes in fostering a collaborative and supportive environment in his kitchen. Sgard, who is from a family of food enthusiasts – his father was a butcher while his brother is also a chef – has revamped the menu at At.mosphere. Now featuring tasting menus for lunch and dinner, the a la carte menu is vast – offering fish and seafood dishes, as well as meat and poultry; the summit of which is arguably the Wagyu Tenderloin.

Despite its wide-ranging, sophisticated menu, the true highlight of this particular establishment is almost certainly the expansive city views on display. On a clear day, visibility can extend a breathtaking 60 miles (90 kilometres), meaning you can easily see the entire city. Guests are advised to check the weather forecast in advance, however, as bookings are non-refundable in the event of poor visibility.

Dubai is a city replete with both fine dining restaurants and awe-inspiring views. When the two combine, they create truly unforgettable experiences – whether it’s a romantic dinner, a celebration with friends, or a quiet moment of reflection high above the skyline. With so many exceptional venues to choose from, dining in Dubai is as much about the setting as it is about the cuisine.
